TOURS & EVENTS

We’re excited to welcome your family to Hausner! All applications are submitted through Ravenna, our secure online platform for independent school admissions.

1. Create your Ravenna account and enter information for each child.

2. Fill out a preliminary application for every student who will apply to Hausner.

3. Submit the $100 application fee per student.

Once your application and fee are submitted, you’ll receive a confirmation email with the next steps, guiding you through the rest of the admission process.

Prospective students are warmly invited to visit Hausner for a student visit or shadow day.
All visits/shadows will take place between January and March 2026. 

• TK & Kindergarten
  Applicants are invited to join a scheduled one-hour visit between February and March. During this fun and engaging session, children will connect with peers and learn alongside our teachers. Meanwhile, parents are welcome to enjoy coffee and conversation with Hausner administration and fellow families.
  
  In addition to these on-campus visits, our Admissions team will also visit each applicant in their current preschool or daycare setting. These observations help us get to know each child in a familiar environment and gain a fuller understanding of their learning style.
   

• 1st Grade
  Applicants are invited to join us for a one-hour visit. We’ll share detailed information about this special experience once we’ve received all of your child’s application materials.
   

• 2nd Grade
  Applicants are invited to spend a half day shadowing in their current grade. During the visit, your child will be paired with a Hausner buddy, attend classes, and enjoy lunch with new friends.
   

• 3rd–8th Grade
  Applicants are invited to spend a full day shadowing in their current grade. During the visit, your child will be paired with a Hausner buddy, attend classes, enjoy lunch with new friends, and tour the campus while meeting teachers and asking questions.

Please note: all application materials—including report cards and teacher recommendations—must be submitted at least one week before the scheduled Shadow Day.

• Student Recommendation (Grades TK–8)
  We love getting to know our prospective students, and teacher recommendations are an important part of that. This is also standard practice at Bay Area independent schools. On your Hausner application checklist in Ravenna, you’ll find a link to email your child’s current teacher a confidential Student Recommendation form. Once completed, the teacher submits it directly to us.
   
• School Records and Report Cards (Grades 1–8)
  On your Hausner application checklist in Ravenna, there’s also a link to request your child’s current school to send us their most recent and previous year’s report cards and records.
   
• Upper School Questionnaire (Grades 5–8)
  If your child is applying to Hausner’s Upper School (grades 5–8), we’re eager to learn more directly from them. You’ll find a link in your Ravenna checklist to a short questionnaire for these students.

Hausner releases admission decisions in alignment with other Bay Area independent schools.

Once your application is complete, the Admission Committee carefully reviews each submission and emails decisions and applicable enrollment information.
