TOURS & EVENTS

We’re glad your family is considering Hausner. Applications are completed through Ravenna, our secure online admissions platform.

The admissions process includes:

1. Create your Ravenna account and add each child who will be applying.
2. Submit a separate application for each new student and pay the $100 application fee per student.
3. Complete the supplemental application items listed in your Ravenna checklist, such as teacher recommendations, school records, and grade-specific materials.
4. Participate in a Student Visit or Shadow Day. Once the required application materials are received, eligible applicants will receive information about scheduling their visit.
5. Receive your admission decision. Hausner releases decisions in alignment with other Bay Area independent schools, and admitted families receive enrollment information and next steps.

Current Hausner Families

Currently enrolled Hausner students do not need to reapply. Returning students complete a separate re-enrollment process.

If you are applying for a sibling who is new to Hausner, please submit a separate Ravenna application for that child. Sibling applicants follow the sibling admissions timeline, and current families will receive an application fee waiver.

Tuition Assistance

Families seeking financial support may apply separately for confidential, needs-based tuition assistance through Clarity. The tuition assistance process is separate from the admission decision.

Apply to Hausner

Prospective students are invited to spend time at Hausner through a Student Visit or Shadow Day. These visits help students get to know our community while giving us the opportunity to learn more about each child as a learner and classmate.

Visits take place between January and March. There is nothing students need to prepare in advance.

TK & Kindergarten | Student Visit

Applicants join a scheduled one-hour visit between February and March with age-appropriate activities alongside peers and teachers.

A member of our Admissions Team will also visit each child in their current preschool or daycare setting to get to know them in a familiar environment.

Grade 1 | Student Visit

Applicants join a one-hour Student Visit with age-appropriate classroom activities and opportunities to get to know Hausner.

Grade 2 | Half-Day Shadow Day

Applicants spend a half day at Hausner, ending at 1:00 p.m., paired with a student buddy and joining classes, lunch, and other parts of the school day.

Grades 3–8 | Full-Day Shadow Day

Applicants spend a full school day at Hausner, paired with a student buddy and joining classes, lunch, transitions, and other parts of a typical day.

Before Your Visit

All required application materials, including school records and teacher recommendations, must be received at least one week before a scheduled Student Visit or Shadow Day.

Families will receive complete arrival, pickup, and visit details in advance.

Your Ravenna checklist will include the additional materials needed to complete your child’s application. You can track the status of each item directly in Ravenna.

Student Recommendation | Grades TK–8

Use the link in Ravenna to request a confidential recommendation from your child’s current teacher. The completed form is submitted directly to Hausner.

School Records & Report Cards | Grades 1–8

Request your child’s current school to send their most recent and previous year’s report cards and records using the link in your Ravenna checklist.

Upper School Questionnaire | Grades 5–8

Applicants to Hausner’s Upper School complete a short student questionnaire so we can learn more about their interests, experiences, and perspective.

Hausner releases admission decisions in alignment with other Bay Area independent schools.

Families offered admission will receive enrollment instructions, including the enrollment deadline, agreement, deposit, and next steps. Admission is not complete enrollment; a student’s place is secured once the school has offered admission and the required enrollment steps are completed by the family.
