Staff Profile: Cecile Amram

Azriella Friedman

Cecile Amram has been a long-time member of the Hausner community as a parent, but is now a part of this community in a new role. Read more to learn about her journey from France to America!

1. How long have you lived in the Bay Area, where did you come from and what brought you here?

I have lived in the Bay Area for almost ten years with my husband Eric and my two daughters Lea and Eve. Both graduated from Hausner in 2018 and 2021. I’m originally from Strasbourg, Alsace (east of France). I went to college in Paris. I moved to California because my husband Eric and I always wanted to give our two daughters, Lea and Eve, an American education and culture. Also, the unsafe political environment for Jews in Europe made us decide that it was the right time to move.

2. What is your role at Hausner and how long have you been here?

I’m the Director of Enrollment Management. I have been in that role for about two months.

3. What is the highlight of your working week?

I love to go to Kabbalat Shabbat because it is a special moment where I can see all the staff, kids, and parents sing together.

4. What do you do when you're not at work?

I love to hike, cook, visit art exhibitions, and see friends.

5. What do you think you would do if you weren't the Director of Enrollment Management?

I would be a psychologist!

6. Tell us a fun fact about yourself.

I love getting involved in matchmaking.

7. What is your favorite Hebrew word?

L’dor Vador
