Exciting New Opportunity: Host a Shinshin!
Hausner Marketing

This coming academic year, Hausner is excited to host the Jewish Agency for Israel's Shinshinim program for the very first time! Other Jewish day schools in the Bay Area have significantly benefited from their participation in the program. Shinshinim are Israeli high school graduates who choose to defer their military service for a year and serve as cultural ambassadors abroad. They bring their passion for Israel, share their experiences, and build lasting connections with Jewish communities worldwide.

We are looking for host families to welcome Shira and Ziv, two inspiring Shinshinim, into their homes. This is a fantastic chance to showcase the warmth, kindness, and hospitality that define the Hausner community.

Ziv Tziferblat

By hosting a Shinshin, you’ll be providing a unique opportunity for your family to engage with Israel on a personal level. Families are asked to offer a private room, meals, and a welcoming home for 3-4 months or longer. In return, you’ll be creating meaningful, long-lasting connections.

If you’re interested in hosting Shira or Ziv, or would like more information, reach out to Noga, the Bay Area Shinshinim Hub Director, at nogas@jafi.org or Dina, Hausner's Community Engagement Manager at dpritsker@hausnerschool.org
