This morning, we had the great privilege of welcoming a distinguished guest – former Attorney General of Israel and former Vice-President of the Israeli Supreme Court, Elyakim Rubinstein.
In attendance were Hausner's 8th graders, joined by their counterparts from Wornick Jewish Day School and students from Kehillah High School. Together, they had the unique opportunity to engage with Justice Rubinstein as he spoke about the inner workings of the Israeli Supreme Court. The event marked the launch of our Israeli Supreme Court project, a pioneering educational initiative. Teams of eighth graders from Hausner and Wornick will delve into in-depth research and engage in spirited debates surrounding a hypothetical Israeli Supreme Court case.
The students seized this opportunity to ask Justice Rubinstein great questions, delving into the intricacies of the Supreme Court's decision-making process. The event was an enriching learning experience and a significant step towards fostering a deeper understanding of the Israeli legal system.
