Hausner’s Incoming Board President Wins Prestigious Jewish Book Award

In June 2025, we watched as Hausner's incoming Board President and current parent, Boris Glants, received the prestigious Anne and Robert Cowan Writer’s Prize by the Jewish Community Federation and Endowment Fund for his debut novel, Half Notes from Berlin.

Born in Soviet Ukraine and now a Bay Area resident, Boris is not only a passionate Jewish lay leader and technology entrepreneur—he’s also a gifted writer whose historical fiction explores how major events reshape everyday Jewish families.

We are so proud to have such inspiring leadership in our community. Mazel tov, Boris!
