Passion Projects: In Search Of Mentors

Passion Projects: In Search Of Mentors
Tal Binyamin

Hausner is thrilled to kick off the inaugural year of a Passion Project Arc in grades 6-8. While these projects will have a unique focus in each grade level, each is designed to help students build real-world skills and independence through authentic research, critique, iteration, and Tikkun Olam (repairing the world). Each student’s project will culminate in a public product for our community and beyond.

Sixth graders will "Make" a Difference, looking to solve problems in their community, learning about entrepreneurship, creating a business model and product in their area of interest.

Seventh graders, as always, will focus on Avodah La'Olam- the work of the world, a year-long philanthropy project delving into challenges both close and far.

Eighth graders will engage in a Capstone project, synthesizing their learning through their Hausner journey doing a deep dive to create something meaningful in a topic of their choosing.

Get Involved through Mentoring

The students need your support. We are looking for mentors to work with our students on their projects. Do you have a special area of expertise? Knowledge or a career? A hobby you love to share? No teaching or prior mentoring experience is necessary, just a willingness to share your areas of interest and expertise with a middle school student.

The Hausner project team will pair you with a student. If you are willing to help, please fill out this form by November 19. If you are not sure or need more information, please email us at capstone@hausnerschool.org. Thank you!
