Meet Ani Varro, the heart and soul behind Hausner's financial operations! With 15 years of dedication, Ani shares her incredible journey from Hungary to the US, her love for Hausner's close-knit community, and her passion for remodeling.
1. Can you briefly introduce yourself and tell us about your background and experience?
I came to the US in 1984 from Budapest, Hungary with my husband and 2 sons aged 5 and 7. He was invited to work here as an AIDS researcher and I volunteered at Palo Alto JCC as I had no work permit. In 1988 we received our green cards and I was offered the CFO position at the JCC. Hausner was founded in 1990 and opened its first class at the JCC.
2. What is your role at Hausner and how long have you been here?
I am the Assistant Head of School for Finance and Operations. I started at Hausner in 2008, and just finished my 15th year!
3. What do you do when you’re not at work?
I enjoy spending time with my family, including my 3 grandchildren. One of them graduated from Hausner last year and one will graduate this year. I love to travel, cook, bake and knit!
4. What do you love most about Hausner?
The feeling of belonging to a lovely and caring community! After leaving my country and my family in Hungary this community became family to me and I found my best friends here at Hausner.
5. Tell us a fun fact about yourself
I really enjoy remodeling! I am always happy helping friends design new bathrooms, kitchens or whatever they need help with!
