Impact Report
Thank You: A Message from our Head of School & Board President
Dear Friends,
As we look back on the 2021/2022 school year, what stands out, first and foremost, is the joy, curiosity and love of learning that our students, faculty, and staff brought to our school community every day.
It is thanks to you- our wonderful supporters- that Gideon Hausner Jewish Day School has been able to thrive, even throughout the challenges of COVID. We are grateful for the generous contributions that enabled us to achieve a record year both in terms of participation and funds raised to support our educational vision.
Our leadership team introduced several exciting initiatives over the past year, including our new Transitional Kindergarten, Philosophy for Children in Grades K and 6, our pilot program for Entrepreneurship and Social Impact in the upper school, the Stanford@Hausner speaker series, and Design Thinking training for teachers.
Our teachers worked tirelessly to engage our students in deep general and Jewish learning that cultivates their critical thinking, creativity and compassion. Our students excelled in the classroom, on the sports field, on stage, and in their pursuit of a more just and sustainable world. Several Hausner students won top awards this year at the Noetic Math Competition and the Broadcom MASTERS (Math, Applied Science, Technology, and Engineering Rising Stars) Competition. Students were also recognized throughout the year for the way they embodied Hausner’s core values of kindness, collaboration and commitment to the community.
Our board of directors successfully led a strategic planning process that included the development of a new five-year strategic plan as well as new mission, vision, and values statements. These important new documents, which will serve to guide decisions about our strategic direction, will be shared this fall along with a new logo that reflects Hausner’s unique culture.
Thanks to our parent and community volunteers, community-wide events such as our Hanukkah celebration, Purim Carnival, Spring Benefit, and Grandparents Day brought us all closer together.
We are able to do this vital work of educating the next generation of leaders, thinkers, and creators, who will be equipped with the intellectual, spiritual, and social skills as well as access to the wisdom of Jewish tradition that will enable them to build robust, sustainable, and compassionate communities, thanks to you—our treasured friends and supporters.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to all of you who volunteered your time and made generous donations to Hausner this year.
