Board Spotlight

Farewell to our outgoing board members, and Welcome to our Newest Members

At the close of the 22/23 school year, we said goodbye to four talented and dedicated board members: Valerie Porush Hoffman, Susie Packer, Ron Sandel, and Karen Strobel. Valerie has gone on to join our staff as our new Director of Enrollment and Family Engagement, and we couldn’t be happier that she will be putting her talents towards strengthening our school and community.

We are incredibly grateful to our outgoing board members, and we are excited to welcome three new board members: Will Gordon, Harris Romanoff, and Christine Tachner.

Please read on to learn more.

Christine Tachner

Christine Tachner, Alumni Parent

A former advertising copywriter, Christine is currently a serial volunteer, avid gardener, and curator of vintage clothing. She lives in Palo Alto with her husband Adam, three Hausner alumni children (Allegra, Sam and Alex), and two goofy Goldendoodles.

“Hausner has been central to our family's Jewish identities, and the source of lifelong friendships not just for our kids, but for ourselves as well. We are so grateful to those who built the school into the gem that it remains.”

Harris Romanoff

Harris Romanoff, Current Parent

By day, Harris is a founder at Qbit, a human sentiment cloud platform that helps  brands measure customer experiences using AI-powered voice feedback; by night,  he's an avid maker of robots, machines, and interactive art.

“Our family feels incredibly fortunate to be part of the Hausner community. We have  made so many lifelong friendships here that Hausner has become our West Coast  family.”

Will Gordon

Will Gordon, Current Parent

A longtime tech entrepreneur, Will is now a stay-at-home dad supporting his amazing wife and two wonderful kids. Outside of family, he tries to give back as a volunteer in a variety of charitable roles and as a strategic advisor to the occasional startup. Will and his wife Melissa launched and continue to coach the prize-winning Hausner track team every Spring.

“Hausner provides my kids a safe and loving environment to grow and explore who they are and who they wish to become.”
